We were commissioned by Sonos to redesign the global packaging for their wireless sound system. We looked to rationalize the existing scheme, introducing a stripped-back approach to typography, photography, and color, with a simple black and white color-coding system to reflect the product within. The project won the Dieline Merit for Playbase.

Logomark design for Kevin Durant’s Eighth signature Nike shoe, KD8. The brief was to develop a single graphic numeral “8” that feels contemporary, modern, and timeless with a sports performance edge. It needed to be a bold figure that could work if applied tonally. The graphic “8” was primarily designed to live on the footwear packaging for Kevin Durant’s 8th signature shoe but needed to be strong enough to carry over into the larger KD8 seasonal narrative. The “8” was drawn using simple and powerful graphic gestures and moments that speak to the art of the “woven” technology and fabric of the shoe upper.

Patagonia Provisions teamed up with HopWorks Urban Brewery to create Long Root Ale, using all organic ingredients and the first to be made with Kernza®, a soil-regenerating perennial grain. Patagonia approached Hype Type Studio to create the brand identity, visual language, and packaging design for Long Root Ale. The new brand features the iconic Patagonia color palette alongside the ‘Fitzroy’ mountain logo, which wraps seamlessly around the individual cans and packaging.

Founded by Yvon Chouinard in 1973, Patagonia is a sustainable outdoor clothing company based in Ventura, California. We were commissioned to design the look and feel for the Patagonia Black Hole Campaign to promote their Black Hole Duffel Bags. Sitting within the Patagonia logo, the word GO forms the heart of the campaign. Across all communications, the GO logo connects the photography via a simple and flexible graphic system and helps communicate the notion of adventure, travel, and exploration. The design for the campaign was brought to life through advertising, billboards, wild posting, retail, social media, and website design.

WayB is a startup based in California that reinvents on-the-go gear for family adventures, big and small. We helped WayB update its identity by re-designing the symbol to be friendlier and more memorable. The logo signifies the letter ‘W’ and depicts a journey traveled using linear loops to make up the symbol. The brand was repositioned and defined by creating a new set of guidelines, thus, establishing WayB’s unique tone of voice. With the new brand successfully launched, the WayB Pico campaign for their Travel Car Seat on IndieGoGo found overwhelming success and was funded 756%. Photo: Jason Pietra
